Nairobi (dpa) - The chairman of the Kenyan electoral commission walked out of a briefing room Sunday when a scuffle broke out as he began announcing a tally that put President Mwai Kibaki ahead of opposition candidate Raila Odinga, leaving no presidential winner declared.

Odinga supporters chanted "we want justice" as chairman Samuel Kivuitu read out the vote count from remaining constituencies three days after the polls that have sparked ethnic violence around the country.

The delay in announcing the results has allowed tensions to simmer.

Odinga led in most opinion polls ahead of the vote as well as in the ballot counting until Saturday and his supporters have alleged a Kibaki win would be due to vote rigging.
