NEWS: Africa Kigali accuses French political figures of complicity in 1994 genocide Following a two year investigation the 500 page report alleges that French military units assisted the Hutu Interahamwe militias in the systematic slaughter of nearly a million people, and attempted to shield those responsible once the killing subsided.
“French forces directly assassinated Tutsis and Hutus accused of hiding Tutsis…French forces committed several rapes on Tutsi survivors”. The French are also accused of helping to arm Hutu extremists citing official papers discarded by the defeated Hutu regime detailing weapons shipments from France.
