Sisyphus would have complained about the Israeli Palestinian Crisis

Personally, I was happy with the Israeli Palestinian crisis, as it has saved me few quid. You see, using software developed in Israel for counter terrorist purposes, the local council has saved hundreds of thousands of pounds by implementing a lie detection system over the phone. So when you call up our council to claim benefits, the operator says that you are being evaluated by this lie detection system, you would either not go ahead with the claim or would have the claim rejected because the system thinks you are telling ‘porkies’. The amount of porkies that are told in the aftermath of the Israeli Palestinian Crisis is monumental.

The alienated region of the country has suddenly woken up to an anniversary of a massacre that took place 25 years back in Assam.

Highly dangerous cults of hate like Al Qaeda are social mutations that grow virulently and seem unstoppable. But they are not invincible and are bedeviled with contradictions that can eventually consume them. Much depends on them having the right conditions to flourish. To live they must kill, to survive others must die. But still they are ultimately doomed by the futility of their very existence.

They say that whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad. It is also said that madness can be defined by doing the same thing again and again and getting the same wrong result, without ever changing. Sisyphus was one such poor soul in question. Condemned by the Gods to roll a rock up and hill and watch it fall down again, and then continue to repeat the hopeless process for the rest of eternity. His crime had been to try to cheat the Gods, by cheating death and becoming one of them. Likewise the US is now condemned for trying to cheat defeat in Iraq, to repeating the same old mad policies over and over again. If once there was method in the madness, there is now madness in the method. This dysfunctional behaviour can only finally result in some unspeakable abomination.

Although the Euro Tournament kicked off on June 13 with the exciting game between historical rivals France and England, European elections did not kick off so well. French citizens, and no doubt politicians, were riveted more to their television screens than to the voting polls; people questioned which of the two teams would win, with national stars Zidane and Beckham, instead of which party was going to rule the European Parliament. Indeed, the European elections came at a wrong time as it coincided with the Euro tournamentas a result, many people did not vote.

They tell us the average citizen doesnt understand the intricate language of Congress. Did we not elect them to be translators? We are told to our faces that there are some things about a war that involves our brothers, sister, mothers, and fathers that we do not need to know. We elect leaders whose main political statement during the Alaskan Gubernatorial debates was I dont have to answer that. When did we stop listening?

Gay Marriage? Well, George W. Bush has spoken. He firmly opposes same-sex marriage. Honestly, we could see that coming a mile away: broadminded he is not, no matter what we might debate about his intelligence or sense of morality.

The debate escalated when the Supreme Courts made more decisions in February. Another state Massachusetts ruled that same-sex couples have full marriage rights. Texas banned anti-sodomy laws, reversing the ruling from seventeen ago when homosexuals (and any other couple) took part in deviant sex. San Franciscos mayor Newsom decided to start giving marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples.
