Nigerians have to recognize the germane element of goodwill in serving visitors water, kola or fura. This goodwill is founded on kindness and enabled by rectitude, customary traditions of Nigeria's various ethnic groups. The social expectations therein guide positive adaptations that rationalize the place of our traditions in the context of modern Nigeria. These adaptations should also be anchored in the paradigm of impressing upon visitors our positive social attitudes about life and existence. Altruistically, every human heritage, no matter the clime, intends just that. But the current contamination by whimsical values, prostituted by modern decadence, is inconsistent with our human values.

She did this all in the name of getting out of Trinity University. I thought maybe doing too many drugs, crashing a car through the building, or just the normal sitting down and talking to your parents about your feelings would do, but hey, what do I know? By passing these letters around, she could tell her parents that she was scared because her peers were being targeted, and they would take her out of the school. Apparently during an interrogation, Harden confessed and there really was no stink about it except concern and worry. Yet, imagine if Harden was white. Do you think the outcome would be the same?

In taking this bold and decisive action against pharmacists who insist that their religious beliefs against contraception gives them the right to deny women their legal prescriptions from their doctors, he has done what I thought was not possible for an elected official in the current political environment; to stand up to the religious right and tell them "no." However, during this past season, the quality of the writing has surpassed itself, from excellent to outstanding, especially the last two episodes. I found myself wishing that the excitement of this latest Presidential election, albeit a fictional one, had been present in our actual election, which in the opinions of many left a great deal to be desired, in terms of both the candidates and the final result. If this had been a real election, the results would have been close; and for many Americans, represented a tough choice between two strong, likable and respectable candidates.

The Schiavo Factor

Hello friends. Welcome to the Journal. On June 9, 1999, my mother passed away. She was kept alive by machines for 11 days, and my family decided that day, it was time to end her suffering since that is the way my mother would want it. She did not want to live her life as a vegetable. I thought she might have a chance, but my family was set on the fact she was not going to come back as the woman we loved. In my heart from time to time, I wonder what if. My girlfriend says she felt my mother squeeze her hand, but she was not waking up. It is a day that is very difficult for me to talk about, and it was a day that changed the way life was forever.

Fast forward to today, a woman named Terri Schiavo, who has been in this condition for quite a while has died today. She spent 13 days off a feeding tube after her husband had it removed saying that Terri wanted it that way. Her parents fought and involved judges, which then brought in right wing conservatives fighting for the cause to keep her alive. Even while she was starving and decomposing, Florida governor Jeb Bush was interjecting himself into a matter that he had no business getting involved in.

They were watching the Terri Shaivo case on the news and were terrified. In case you have not been watching, there is a case in Florida right now that is drawing attention all over the United States. Terri Shaivo suffered irreparable brain damage fifteen years ago and has been kept alive with a feeding tube ever since. Her husband has been fighting for her right to die for the last seven years. This is the third time that her feeding tube has been removed, but two other times judges intervened to have the tube reinserted.
Since the invention of the television American children have glued their eyes to images of men and women that they were programmed to aspire to be like. Each image constructed of societal rules, regulations, and norms that depicted a gendered role for both males and females. As societies views on women and the roles that they played expanded so have the female images that were represented by the animated screen. American girls have watched their female cartoon role models evolve from Betty Boop to Olive Oyl, from Olive Oyl to She-Ra and the Power Puff girls.

According to this segment, there is talk in several state legislatures about making it harder for married couples to divorce. As if the current laws aren’t tough enough already. Anyone who has "been there, done that" can speak from personal experience that the laws as they exist now make it anything but easy for men and women to leave a bad marriage.

Although I can’t speak for everyone, I can honestly report that this secular writer hasn’t experienced any regrets for my decision to trade in the unhappiness of traditional Catholicism for the joys of secularism. Since no regrets have surfaced in more than the twenty years that have elapsed since making the secular choice, it’s rather doubtful that they will surface any time in the near or distant future.

After seeing endless examples of media hype of all sorts of products, be they homes, cars or anything else, I’m firmly convinced there are no status symbols.
UN Bureaucracy and its failures

Bureaucracies are nothing but debating societies, which are bound to fail. We've seen how they failed America on 9-11, and have seen the CIA and FBI both fail in preventing those terrorist attacks. We have also seen how the UN failed to prevent 800,000 deaths in Rwanda. Now we are seeing Bureaucracy fail again, this time it's failing Sudan -- a country where a possiable 350,000 civillians will die if nothing is done according to a press release from the Green Party's website.

What will happen? Will this Evil Bureaucracy let these people die? Or will they send in forces, or will the world as well send in forces to stop the killings and ethnic cleansing that is going on?

I stood helplessly by and watched a candidate who touted the praises of oil development and no taxes to stabilize the Alaskan economy become governor of the place that I call home. I couldnt believe it. Here was a man who stood in front of the entire state of Alaska and tapped dance around the issues with one reply, I dont have to answer that. I watched in a mixture of disgust and nausea as he hooked more and more Alaskans with promises worthy of the most skilled horse trader. I have to wonder if all his campaign promises where just an elaborate song and dance meant solely for the entertainment of the masses.

Why have we become so suspicious that we cannot enter into meaningful relationships with each other? Why can we not behave as normal human beings? After all when we were born as human beings the first lesson we learnt was that we should trust each other. However, as our lives progressed slowly, trust began to diminish. Our childhood innocence gave way to calculations in which there was no place for trust.

Work That Constitution, Baby!

The sudden interest in gay marriage in the U.S. is completely ridiculous and mostly diversionary in nature for President Bush. I understand that to the President and his cronies a happily confused and glaringly stupid voting populace is ideal for reelection and the passage of restrictive laws. But really, do we have to create such turmoil among a group that is finally celebrating SOME acceptance in the Land of the Free?

What I propose to do here is offer some solutions to the problem with gays in the U.S. and their nagging, incessant need to celebrate unions with the people they love, provide legal and financial benefits to their spouses, and grant them equal rights and freedoms as guaranteed in the Constitution.

The Old Constitution
Being an entertainer, Im practically prohibited by law from having problems with gay people. But lets look at some scenarios anyway.

If all gay men disappeared, there would be a sudden decrease in movies, plays, circuses, television shows & entertainment agencies for me to enjoy and work within. Id never have any good looking clothes to wear on stage and my hair would always be a disaster. At the absolute least, Id never be able to watch Queer Eye again and that alone would be catastrophic. And who the HELL would they get to be the center square on Hollywood Squares?

Take all the lesbians out of the equation and there could be some improvements. Without them wed have no Rosie ODonnell or Ellen DeGeneres on our screens, no K.D. Lang or Melissa Etheridge music and no Xena, Warrior Princess and hot girl-on-girl action in our porno - WAIT! Forget I said anything!

Dear readers, for a long time, in an ever varying world, we have been listening to things about Muslims. What they do and how they do it. Being a Muslim myself, I would like to explain it to you.

This article is not about proving any point about any religion, the main notion behind the story is to explain the Muslims point of view within the current world situation, for they refrain from being a part of any worldly alliance, and thus it is sometimes assumed that they are against the so-called freedom of the people of this world.

The Jews (Ban-i-Israel - Nation of Israel - as Muslims call them). Jewish theology was brought into this world by the Prophet Moses (PBUH) (Mosa as Muslims know Him).
