Let me be honest straight-out-the-gate here: I've seen a lot of porn. There I said it...am I ashamed of that fact? Nope. Here's why. Porn films are more than just fake boobs, generally bad acting/scripts/production values, coke habits, erectile dysfunction and sexually transmitted diseases. It's probably one of the best forms of sex eduction that we have in this tight-collared world (proven by the fact that some adult entertainers have worked on actual sex-ed films), it explores fantasies that many of us would never talk about (I admit that many of these disturb me) and it provides great stimulation for the lonely regardless of gender or sexual orientation. And hell, I've been VERY lonely in the past. For those who don't know the majority of the films that are made every day come from San Fernando Valley in California, but there is a fair amount of action going on in other places including Eastern Europe, the rest of Europe and Brazil in particular. In terms of that action taking place, it tends to fall into the following categories: Straight (girl/guy), Bisexual (any sex combo), Lesbian (girl/girl), Gay (guy/guy) and Trannie (transsexual in any combo). From these categories, we tend to get certain themes from the movies, such as all anal, midget love, interracial, fetish, all blowjobs or just plain old everyday screwing. Furthermore, these movies are filmed in ways that are just as inventive as you might see in regular movies, particularly as some studios begin to use higher budgets (Digital Playground is not afraid to spend a bit of cash), use hip-hop music (Snoop Dogg comes to mind) or utilize artistic visions (Andrew Blake films women like a sculptor moulds them into their work). The film could be a feature presentation, all glossy-looking with a story and a bit of dough spent or a gonzo flick where the action is shot realistically, like a documentary style but on the cheap. The budgets and personal styles seem to dictate the directors choice. Fans get just as devoted to these movies as your regular film buff, but these ones get the bonus of seeing even more releases (thousands of titles a year) than your average Hollywood star. The hierarchy is ruled by women, unlike Hollywood, were the opposite is true. Queens like Jenna Jameson (pretty much the porn uber-goddess) get greater control over their contracts and many of these top-line girls become mentors for the next generation, some move behind the camera or into the production side when they feel their time has come. Age certainly does not weary all porn actresses, like Nina Hartley, who could still give any young stud the time of his life (and teach him a lot in the process). She is an absolute sexpert.
