The Party Secretary of Tibet issued his new decision that all the officials of the Tibetan race should hand in an article to criticize Dalai Lama. Whoever refuses to do it will have a serious result. All those officials must quit their religion.

In the so-called Cultural Revolution, Mao forced all Chinese people, including government officials, to criticize those he did not like, such as Liu Shaoqi, the chairman of the republic and Lin Biao, his legal successor. When Deng Xioping deposed two general secretaries of the Communist Party, Hu Yaobang and Zhao Ziyang, he did not make the Chinese criticize them. It seemed an improvement.
