What was that interesting was what she was watching. Yes, you guessed it: Star Plus, the channel which broadcasts all sort of specious cultural values which arent even apparent from their real lifestyle.

All the dramas seem to be for Venusians, telling them how can they advert jeopardy in their houses, making them watch Copper (Graphite rather) dreams with Gold on it.

The country where a person can kill his hunger well for Rs. 5/-, where the highly paid Instructors salary is Rs. 800/-, where there is a shortage of cloth to cover the body not because of glamour but poverty, where people lives on streets considering those as permanent homes, all of this is common not exceptional in this country, talks about family businesses with monthly turnover of Rs. 50,000,000/-. Believe me I am yet to hear amount less than mentioned.

The financial condition of the country is what is really disturbing me. Pakistan was separated from India on the basis of Two Nation theory. The theory which every one obliged to, the theory that stated the cultural or rather religious (Muslim culture is based on their religion) differences between the two, and demanded separation, being in accord with the theory. I think that the differences still exist; had they been volatile, the separation wouldnt have materialized anyway.

These Indian channels, penetrating so called Indian cultural values in us, which we watch so closely: the dressing is nothing close to what is done in Pakistan too much glamour in things has been involved by virtue of which the local channels have to introduce the same effect.

The children are learning to question privacy. Hindu cultural and religious values have begun to grow in our culture as well. Young children are seen saying Namashkar instead of the conventional Muslim Salam. Also the factor of feminine love is taking growth (only telling you my observation after the channels started; women were already mad before this advent with due respect).

The major disadvantages it can bring you is by spoiling the generation and making them think irrationally. For example, if a child questions something from those dramas, then are we in the capacity to answer it. The daughters of this community have been given a wrong dimension by this cultural war. Its infiltrating in them the vulnerabilities of Hindu women. The censor board of India has different policies which strictly conflicts with our cultural values. The trouble is that the ethical education is fiduciary responsibility of a mother, and of course, the mothers are getting excited with this new adventurism. If the roots get excited like this, I wonder what leaves we are going to see in the near future.

It was by time that the government banned those channels in Pakistan but I dont know why that ban was abolished; I think that the ban should be re-imposed so the basis of Pakistan can be kept intact.

Hi Mohsin and other Pakistani friends, well this message is not blame you guys or not to support Indian channels. I agree that whatever Indian channels, especially Star Plus and Zee tv showing is trash, even I dont like saas bahu serials...well comming to the point of the culture I would like to share one information with my Paki friends that One of the Pakistani was my room mate in London for few months and we became very good friends and than I came to know about the situation of the Pakistan. The guy was 28yrs old and he did not know that in Azmer Sharif more than muslims hindu go and pray, and its not only a place there is a place khwaza moinuddin chishti dargah, here also more than hindu go. There is a Ganesh Temple in india where a muslim family does all worship....I mean to say do you believe there are two different Gods for us? if there are two Gods than why we both have same kind of creature two eyes, two ears...etc? do you know whats the meaning of a religion? it says believe in god and do all good things either its Muslim or Hindu or any other religion in this world.....I say Khuda Hafiz to my muslim friend, so does it mean I'm influenced with Muslim culture? or my friend comes to my home on Diwali and greet my family so does it mean he is influenced with Hinduism? I believe if you'll give respect to others culture than you'll get the same for your culture. Believe me they way we celebrate Diwali in India we celebrate Iid too...and as you said that if your child asks a question about Hindu culture you can not aswer it, its because you just dont want to know about anyother culture. but look at us if any child comes to us and asks about muslim culture we have answers because here we live togather like brother and know about each other's religion...so i believe you guys should also learn about other world's culture that never hurts it increases knowledge....

I have read ur notes while i was looking for indian chennels online and realise that one Pakistany person got lots of faults in indian channels. We also believe that but can u stop that.. no because every one is entertaining from these channels and no metter it is india or pakistan or even bangladesh, women loves it. There is freedom for women to say in India as well as Pakistan and if you force to change it then ur nothing but crual Muslim follower.
I am saying salam and Khuda hafiz to every muslim friend of mine but never heard any Muslim friend saying Namaste. We always respect others culture but never expect any one just underestimate our culture.

As a Pakastani, you not I, I do understand your concern. Ancient and Religious cultures and Identification is important. However, I fail to see where you have proved your assertion that it is a direct planned assault on your people by Hindu Indian people. The world is changing all around each and everyone of us, not all changes are good, but we have to learn to accept "Change" and temper our judgement within the climate of change. Governmental Bans or Regulation has never proved to be of assistance to the general public at large, one Ban or Regulation only leads to another until the individual become imprisioned within his own home, mind, and community. Maintain the teachings of your faith and pass them on to succeeding generations and then let the individual make their place within these teachings and pray for the best.
