The article is shallow,cattle aids use to be in Karamoja but not to the extent to which it escalated,why is it the in 1987 when the Karamojong were raiding massively in Lango,the helicopter gunship would circle the place first and raiders would arrive ? The cover up by the goverment riding on the back of Karamojong primitivity is just catastrhopic,the guns were spread by the goverment in the first place to raid mainly Lango and Teso tribes who were major cattle keepers,history shows that the Acholi (Luos) were not cattle keepers,so what kind of cattle were raided from there ? The Teso were victims of circumstance because the raids were targeted on Lango inorder to punish Dr Obote, unless we learn to write truth ,we will never be free.
Am a Karamojong myself so learn to write more truth.

I think this is a good background report. I hope others, well versed in the history of this Tribe, will verify or otherwise the statements.
The question now is how is the Government going to proceed? Clearly a lot has to be done to protect the Iteso especially those in Katakwi.
