That one hit a chord with me. I always believed the same laws apply to teachers and students. When I was a teachers, it would always annoy me when teachers ate in the classroom and students could not. I made a point to never eat and if I was feeling sick or something and needed a snack, I let them have something too. Cell phones are another thing. Never talked on mine since they couldn't. And on the once-in-a-blue-moon-day where I needed my cell on, I apologized, but my students always said, "Oh, don't worry about it. Teachers do it all the time." And I knew they respected me because I was fair.
Darn you, Melissa, you made me all nostalgic and miss my past students.
