A very informative article by Das gupta.

According to me, thugs existed in other countries as well, waylaying travellers on highways. You can see western movies of this kind.And they got away with their crimes.

Even today, in India, murders commited in remote areas never come to light and the murderers go unpunished and undetected as well.
