Um, I can only speak from my own experiences. I don't suffer from MPD and don't feel like different people. But if you do and you think that helps you as a writer, who am I to judge?
about you as an aiuthor/ what\'s in a name 2007-03-29 08:20:46
would suffering from mild MPD help a writer? Do you sometimes feel that you are more than one person, sometimes very contradictory to each other?

There are so many books out there to read--especially classics--that not everyone may want to explore different genres. But I'm curious to try one of the YA books you recommended.

"What's in a name," you're totally right. The quality is totally the issue here, but I think some people are unwilling to give these books a chance and admit that they're high quality because they're labeled "YA." Pretty sad. And thanks for the comments on the column. I'm glad you've been enjoying it! :-)
Can I ask, btw, which column is yours so I can check it out?
YA lit../ ah! Whats in a name.. 2007-03-28 02:17:50
There are two aspects to this. Firstly, what really quantifies YA lit? Are we fair to limit the definition only based on age? I have met a few writers who are not more than 25 and trust me, you wouldn't have guessed that about them on reading them. So why does age have to do with anything? Think the quality of the work should be considered.
I liked the article, been reading a lot of you lately, actually more than my own column on the cheers . :) .
