Your mention of St. Paul as perhaps having an epileptic visions fails to account for one thing. There were people with him who also heard a voice, although they could not make out the words that were spoken. It is hard to imagine that all of them experienced an epileptic vision at the same time in such similar ways.

I respect what you wrote, because it sounds like you're open minded on the subject---i think?! I hope.
A large percentage of those in the US maintain that they are christians, even "born again."
Now, consider the number of denominations there are. The Infinite God of all the universe is not in one church, with one group, in one congregation.
I am not a Universalist who belives all people find their way to God, I just believe true believers find their way to God.
We are all different. There are those who may have these "religious experiences" and those who do not. No one's really in a position to judge the heart of someone else. But in today's terrorism environment, the possiblity of religious extremism is scary.
