Ah... 'tis the ebb and flow of political ideas in a wrestling match with reality. Empty stomachs always vote differently than full ones. Wise up and learn all you can how to feed everyone, or suffer the consequences!
NEO-LIBERALIST?/ Willie 2006-02-15 07:59:47
Umm, I'm not sure if your philosophy actually matches that of most neo-liberalists in the world - those being the privatise-at-all-costs, please-take-this-money-so-we-can-tell-you-what-to-do-with-your-country types?
Your idea to plant rice is an old one, and reminds me of an Arrested Devlopment song" Give a mana fish, he'll eat for a day, teach him how to fish and he'll eat forever."
Sadly, that's only posisble if the rivers haven't been poisoned by those same multi nations who insisted a country's natural resources be privatised. Ironic, no?
Yes, the Neo-liberalists are certainly out in force: the G8, the IMF, the World Bank, but honey, thankfully, you're not one of them : )

Bummer! The red parts are gone! Who took the red parts? How am I supposed to know what's funny? Does The Cheers really think I'm that smart?
Seriously, one of your best efforts yet. I, too, am a Neo-Liberal if it means we stop shooting and start feeding. I realize this article is old but after Katrina's disaster, it is painfully clear this administration has its head where the sun don't shine. We spent so much money destroying a country, we couldn't afford to take care of our own. Thank heavens the American people are more generous than most. It's us the people who will pull our fellow Americans through this horrific time. Our government has proven to be so inept we need to count on ourselves to stay alive.

When does a neo-liberal decide he's wrong?
Never!

I voted for Nixon too!
Everybody makes mistakes.
Stay in the game.
