A pregnant British woman gave birth in her car after getting stuck behind a learner driver.

Jane Swiggs, from Cornwall, was being driven by her husband Paul and when she felt her contractions, the couple started their dash to the hospital.

However, they were unable to move after getting stuck behind a driver learner in extremely busy traffic.

So Jane told Paul to pull over when she realised they wouldn't get there in time and gave birth to baby Connor on the hard shoulder.

Both mother and baby are doing well and recovering at their home in St Stephens.
