An 18-year-old American woman has been arrested after accidentally depositing drugs into her bank account.

The offending bag of methamphetamine was put in an envelope at a cash deposit machine in Bremerton, Washington state, along with a wad of money.

A bank employee discovered the drugs upon opening the envelope and contacted the police.

When the woman was questioned she admitted she may have accidently put the drugs in the envelope when she reached into her pocket to get the money.

The woman was arrested and charged with one count of possession of methamphetamine and now faces up to five years in jail.
