Thai police launched an operation to stop teenagers from having sex on Valentine's Day (14.02.08).

Officers patrolled parks, restaurants and shopping malls as they are "the starting points for potential sexual activities that will be done at home or motels." Inspectors from the Ministry of Education were also drafted in to boost the effort while parents were encouraged to make sure their children were home early.

The country - whose legal age of consent is 18 - is currently undergoing a moral crisis at the perceived promiscuity of its youth, which is often blamed on Western music and movies.
