Vendetta Red is a band that thinks they are taking revenge for Rock and Roll's sake. They're not. Vendetta Red is a group of skinny boys posing as rock stars. Lead singer, Zach Davidson looks like Shirley Temple's little brother on a sugar high or crack. Compared to the spirit of Led Zeppelin and The Who, blasphemy of the highest charge, Vendetta Red rocks their fan base with dramatic, cymbal heavy alternative drab music. Don't let my opinions sway you. They have a mainstream hit, I don't know the name because I don't like it, sorry, but hey- happy hands raised in the air- fans like their brand of music. Vendetta Red played at a benefit concert for Home Alive at The Vera Project in Seattle. The Vera Project is one of the best examples of a DIY music non-profit here in the U.S, focusing on providing a cool space for all-ages shows and other creative projects. Home Alive is another Seattle-based non-profit dedicated to end violence-namely sexual violence against women. On their website, www.homealive.org, the org states, "We believe violence prevention is a community responsibility as well as an individual issue. Our work in self defense encourages everyone to recognize their entitlement to the basic human right to live free from violence and hate. Our goal is to build a cultural and social movement that puts violence in a context of political, economic and social oppression and frames safety as a human right."
