According to US and Iraq officials, insurgent attacks in Baghdad have cost the life of at least 58 people on Sunday.

Four of the killed people were US soldiers and family according to US military.
"Four Multi-National Division Baghdad (MNDB) Soldiers were killed at approximately 10 p.m. March 23 after terrorists attacked them with an IED in southern Baghdad while conducting a mounted vehicular patrol," according to a U.S. army statement received by Aswat al-Iraq Voices of Iraq (VOI). One other soldier was injured from this attack.
These latest kills take the death toll of US soldiers in Iraq to 4000.
Of this number, 29 have been killed in February 2008, while 40 were killed in January 2008.
December 2007 saw the death of 23 thus becoming the month with the second lowest number of U.S. fatalities after February 2004 during which 20 soldiers were killed. The highest U.S. death toll was seen in April 2004 with 137 casualties.
