English football champions Manchester United announced the signing of Angola forward Manucho Goncalves on Friday.
The 24-year-old striker, who has scored twice in 10 appearances for his country, was snapped up after a three-week trial and signed a three-year deal to move from Angola's Petro Athletico in January.
"We have had Manucho here for a three-week trial and have been impressed enough to offer him a contract," United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said.
"He is a tall, agile, quick forward and through contacts that Carlos (Queiroz, the United assistant manager) has, was brought to our attention around six months ago."
The deal is subject to Manucho receiving a work permit.
