For couple of years now aspiring musicians have been invited to take part of Folgers jingle competition and this year is no different.

The Folgers Jingle contest accepted submissions in the form of renditions of the iconic Folgers Jingle "The Best Part of Wakin' Up is Folgers in Your Cup." The rules were simple. Musicians had to create their own 60 to 90 second long version of the jingle, using the original melody and lyrics. The original jingle was composed by Leslie Pearl and made its debut in 1984 and since then has been rendered into different styles, from jazz to R & B, from country to gospel, from folk to a capella versions.

This year the submissions were accepted until March 6th and now the panel of judges is doing its best to choose the ten best versions from the numerous submissions. These ten will then become the finalists who will be featured on Folgers website for public voting from May 15th and June 19th, 2013.

The author of the best rendition of the jingle, based on the public vote, will win $25 000.

More information about the competition and also an option to register for the reminder of the public voting start, see www.Folgers.com/Jingle
