Teenage life: Make a Right, Not a Left!

When a teenager walks onto his/her high school campus, he/she thinks, 'Do I look good?', 'What do people think about me?', and even 'Why do my parents have to be so uncool?' It's normal to think these things, but why? Why does everyone care so much about what we look like nowadays? Aren't there more important things in life?

As a teenager, all we care about is that we fit in. Life would be so much easier if we were all just ourselves: why does everyone try so hard to fit in? There would be no waking in the morning and thinking to yourself, 'What should I wear?' or 'Does this match?' or 'Am I wearing enough make-up?' In a world where no one cares, clothes, hair, make-up, style in general wouldn't be such a must.

I think that it is important not to put so much pressure on a teenager because that is only part of a teenager's life. After school there are athletics, clubs, and parties. Yes, athletics are a lot of fun, and they can help to keep a teen out of trouble, but for how long? Clubs are the same as athletics; they help to encourage different areas and keep teens out of the trouble that all parents know their children will someday go through. Now to parties! Parties are a totally different ball game. Teens are usually with friends, and so they do things that they know they shouldn't things such as drinking, and smoking, and breaking all of their parents rules.

Teenage life is difficult, but then again being a parent has to be just as hard; it can't be easy to sit there and have to watch your child throw themselves down a tube but it is necessary. A teenager has to get through things the hard way, on their own, or they will never learn. It is time for everyone to sit down and choose to make the right choices. As I like to say, it is time to make a right instead of a left!
