British tabloid newspaper The Sun face legal action after the publication of photographs of Saddam Hussein shown only in his underwear; one of which appeared as front page news.
Lawyers representing Saddam plan to sue the newspaper, claiming the pictures are a "violation of human rights and in contravention of the Geneva Convention" on the treatment of prisoners.
Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said that they did not condone or sanction the images, and a US military spokesman in Baghdad stated that an investigation into the release of the photos has begun.
