The Cannes Festival starts today, May 11. This time it will be held for the 58th time. Film fans together with actors and other people involved with film-making will be expected in Cannes, South of France.

One of the hottest name for this year's festival is definitely George Lucas's Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

One of the cheapest film there will be a short film by a former railway worker Ben Crowe, who managed to make his film "The Man Who Met Himself" with only £400. This proves that good films CAN be done cheaply as well.

The first Cannes Festival took place September 20, 1946. Now, many years and bag full of festivals later, it has become one of the most important film festivals in the world.
