Trump has just just cancelled his trip to London to open the new billion dollar embassy. It would have been his first official trip to UK as a president. He said that Obama Administration had sold the best located embassy for nothing to build a new one which is located in a worse place.

He tweeted that "Reason I canceled my trip to London is that I am not a big fan of the Obama Administration having sold perhaps the best located and finest embassy in London for "peanuts," only to build a new one in an off location for 1.2 billion dollars. Bad deal. Wanted me to cut ribbon-NO!"

Of course, as with pretty much anything with Trump, he has got his facts wrong yet again. The decision to move the embassy was actually made by not Obama but George W. Bush.

The ambassador at the time, Robert Tuttle, said that "We looked at all our options, including renovation of our current building on Grosvenor Square. In the end, we realized that the goal of a modern, secure and environmentally sustainable embassy could best be met by constructing a new facility."
